Overview:
A global IT solutions and technology services company seeks an accomplished Senior Human Resources Specialist to join their New York office.

In this key role, you will oversee a full range of HR functions—recruitment, payroll and benefits administration, compliance, and strategic HR initiatives—to support our growing, multicultural team.

This position offers a balanced hybrid work arrangement (50% in-office, 50% remote) and the opportunity to contribute to a global organization’s success.

The ideal candidate is a bilingual Japanese-English professional with a proven track record in human resources, a deep understanding of employment regulations, and the ability to foster a positive workplace culture that aligns with their values.

 

Responsibilities:

Recruitment & Onboarding

Lead full-cycle recruitment for diverse professional and administrative roles, from job description development to offer acceptance.

Build effective relationships with staffing partners and conduct thorough candidate evaluations.

Coordinate visa processes and relocation support for international hires.

Deliver engaging new hire orientations and onboarding experiences.

 

Payroll & Benefits

Prepare and oversee payroll in compliance with federal and state regulations, including overtime calculations.

Administer benefits programs, including health insurance, 401(k) contributions, and commuter benefits.

Maintain accurate benefits records and ensure timely reporting.

 

Compliance & Employee Relations

Ensure adherence to all applicable labor laws and regulations (FMLA, PFL, ACA, wage and hour laws).

Maintain and update the Employee Handbook and HR policies.

Support employees and managers with HR-related inquiries and issue resolution.

 

Performance & Development

Coordinate annual performance and salary review processes.

Collaborate on strategic HR programs designed to attract, retain, and develop top talent.

 

HR Administration

Maintain accurate employee data and HR records.

Provide timely employment verifications and manage termination processes.

Track and facilitate compliance training.

 

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree (Human Resources or related field preferred).

At least 5 years of professional HR experience (specialist/generalist/manager track).

Bilingual fluency in Japanese and English.

Strong working knowledge of HR practices, payroll, benefits administration, and compliance.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

Salary Range:

$65,000 – $90,000 DOE
