Position: IT Support Technician / Systems Engineer
(IT Infrastructure – Cloud, Server, Network, PC)

 

Overview:
– Be crucial in building, maintaining, and troubleshooting hybrid cloud or on-premises infrastructure.

– Join a team known for its technical expertise and commitment to ensuring infrastructure solutions’ highest availability, performance, and security levels.

– Clients: Primarily Japanese companies across the Americas and Asia.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

– Provide first to second-level support and manage all installed systems and infrastructure.

– Proactively monitor systems to ensure high availability; maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.

– Write and maintain custom scripts to enhance system efficiency and reduce manual task time.

– Participate in designing information and operational support systems and liaise with vendors and IT staff for problem resolution.

– Continuously update professional knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities, reading publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.

 

Server/Cloud/PC/Application Responsibilities:

– Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.

– Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks; identify possible solutions and collaborate with developers to implement those fixes.

– Handle the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Microsoft/VMware-based environments, including virtualization and containerization technologies such as VMware, Veeam, VDI, and WVD.

– Utilize monitoring systems like PRTG to oversee system performance and ensure operational efficiency.

 

Networking Specifics:

– Responsible for establishing and maintaining network performance by building configurations and troubleshooting network problems on-site and remotely.

-Optimize network performance through continuous monitoring, troubleshooting, scheduled upgrades, and collaborating with network architects on optimization projects.

– Ensure network security by establishing and enforcing policies, defining and monitoring access, and reporting network operational status.

This role is ideal for a dynamic IT professional eager to work in a multi-cultural environment, leveraging technical skills to support and enhance IT infrastructure across multiple sites.

 

 

Technical Skills and Qualifications:

– Strong experience with networking, including familiarity with firewalls, switches, wireless access points, and VPNs. Brands include Cisco, Meraki, Fortigate, and Juniper.

– CCNA certification preferred.

– Proficient in server management, virtualization, and cloud technologies, including Microsoft, VMware, Veeam, and cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS.

– Microsoft Virtualization certifications are preferred.

– Experience in endpoint solutions like Symantec, Trend Micro, CrowdStrike, and cloud solutions including M365 and AWS.

– Must have business-level English communication skills.

– Business-level Japanese is strongly preferred.

– A minimum of 1-2 years of experience as an IT Engineer.
