PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Hawaii Sales Development Division oversees the overall planning, purchasing, setup, and dissemination of information for all related B2B and B2C sales products.
In the Sales Development Department, we work closely with the manager to monitor team progress and workflow, aiming to optimize operational efficiency and economy while maximizing profits.
The Digital Solutions Department operates, maintains, promotes, and markets the company’s website.
Essential Functions

1. Merge and lead the initiatives of the Sales Development Department staff with those of the Digital Solutions Department staff to enhance the effectiveness of both efforts.
2. Remove obstacles that arise from collaboration to enable the Sales Development Department staff and the Digital Solutions Department staff to work together more effectively.
3. Merge and lead the strategies set by the Sales Development Department Manager with those set by the Digital Solutions Department Manager to ensure that both initiatives are more effective.
4. In their absence, substitute for either the Sales Development Department Manager or the Digital Solutions Department Manager.
5. Improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Sales Development department and determine new procedures when necessary.
6. Establish staffing plans and hiring requests, interview and handle hiring decisions with each department manager.

1. Plan, sell, organize, arrange, coordinate, and create new revenue sources for various group tours and individual customers. Transmit details of tour arrangements to staff in all departments of JTB Hawaii, sales offices in Japan, and related offices.
2. Contact, consult, and negotiate with business partners to create new revenue sources.
Research information related to particular products. Respond to inquiries from all clients and provide updated information to related staff and/or clients.
3. Respond to client inquiries, resolve issues, sell the products and services, and increase profit to achieve department goals.
4. Arrange advertising contracts and override commission contracts with clients and various B2B agents. Determine rates, check vendor insurance, create cancellation policies, check contents, booking procedures, etc. Determine omiyage rates and product line-up.
5. Promote services and update the corporate websites. Compile relevant data for research and marketing purposes.

1. Create future action plans for the department to expand the company’s future efforts.
2. Research, review tour and customer requirements, and utilize information to create related programs for the worldwide market.
3. Maintain tracking of products sold monthly. Prepare preliminary monthly products and passenger headcount reports.

1. Review business partner contracts and rates to ensure that information is correct for annual and seasonal programs with all contracted parties.
2. Update and maintain optional tour/omiyage tariff data in various in-house computer systems.
For tariff publishing, provide tariff data and information to relevant sections, Japan offices, etc.
3. Update contact information and distribute it to relevant departments. Create various tables and codes for products. Collect information (including waiver forms, floor plans, etc.).
4. Analyze, support, and resolve work problems. Respond to and assist staff in solving work concerns and issues.

1 Communicate with departments to resolve customer claims and complaints.
2 Process charge waiver requests. Periodically meet with contract accounts to negotiate rates and conditions.
3 Establish and maintain a viable communication network and good relationship with business partners. Communicate information to and from Japan.
4 Communicate with vendors in person, by phone, fax, or e-mail to verify information. Check on quality control and address complaints. Oversee quality control over all optional tours on all islands, frequently involving actual participation in various optional tours.
5 Coordinate with other departments and divisions to promote and develop new programs.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
5 to 7 years of work experience in travel/hospitality and tour planning or advertising.
At least 5 years of managerial and supervisory experience.
Able to professionally and effectively communicate with employees, business partners, and clients in English and Japanese (written and verbal).
Knowledge of Hawaii’s tourism infrastructure, tour arrangements, optional tours, basic business concepts and procedures, reservation concepts and methods, billing and invoice verification procedures, and Japanese culture and customs.
Additional knowledge of advertising is a plus.
Able to plan, organize, and coordinate a wide variety of work efficiently, set priorities, and motivate staff.
Able to work independently and cooperatively with all employees, business partners, and customers professionally and positively.
Valid Hawaii driver’s license with clean abstract.
