Overview
Join a premier Japanese airline as an Airport Flight Operator based at JFK Airport. This vital role ensures safe, efficient, and smooth flight operations while coordinating with crews, contractors, and internal teams to uphold operational excellence and passenger satisfaction.
Primary Responsibilities
Flight Operations Coordination
Support Supervisors and Managers in coordinating all aspects of flight operations.
Review and file flight plans; brief crews on routing, weather (METARs), NOTAMs, and more.
Coordinate with ground teams handling fueling, maintenance, loading, and weight & balance.
Monitor and respond to changing meteorological conditions; assist with flight plan adjustments.
Communicate with ATC, FAA, and JCAB to ensure compliance with all regulations.
Implement emergency procedures and ensure the security and confidentiality of flight data.
Maintain and update technical manuals, including weather and ATC resources.
Administrative Support
Manage operational documentation and correspondence with accuracy.
Coordinate with the Tokyo Operations Management Center on crew-related matters (replacements, accommodations, transport).
Respond to irregular operations (delays, disruptions) and update local staff accordingly.
Load Control Operations
Assist with preparing and reviewing load instruction sheets and weight & balance documents.
Ensure compliance with Dangerous Goods regulations.
Coordinate closely with cargo and flight operations teams.
Secondary Responsibilities
Provide backup support across administrative and operational teams as needed.
Prepare reports and authorize contractor invoices.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Immediately report any operational issues to management.
Perform additional tasks as directed by supervisors or managers.
Qualifications
Experience
Prior flight operations or airline industry experience preferred
Load control experience is a strong plus
Education
High school diploma required
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
Equivalent combination of education and experience considered
Language Skills
Strong English communication skills (verbal and written) required
Japanese language proficiency preferred but not required
Mathematical Skills
Ability to perform standard algebra and calculate interest, percentages, etc.
Additional Requirements
Flexibility to work any shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Valid driver’s license required
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. (No visa sponsorship)
