Overview

Join a leading travel organization in Hawaii and support group travel planning, sales promotion, and event coordination for Japanese and international clients. This role blends program development, supplier negotiation, on-site coordination, and cross-department communication—all in a fast-moving, service-oriented environment. Responsibilities

Research customer requirements and support program creation for group tours and special events.

Meet with tour organizers and conduct site inspections to promote products and destinations.

Check availability and negotiate rates with hotels, restaurants, banquet venues, and suppliers.

Plan, sell, arrange, and coordinate group tours and special events; input details into internal systems.

Communicate tour arrangements to internal departments and Japan-based sales offices.

Provide updated information on products, hotels, venues, and new offerings to maximize tour profitability.

Support sales efforts for tourism and events promotions.

Review workflows and propose improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

Assist with managing group tours, annual events, incentive programs, and technical visits.

Serve as backup for the Assistant Manager when needed.

Provide Japanese/English translation support.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

2–3 years of travel industry experience; familiarity with the Japanese market strongly preferred.

Knowledge and experience of SIT (Special Interest Tours) and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibition) is a plus.

Bilingual proficiency in Japanese and English (spoken and written).

Strong understanding of Hawaii’s tourism infrastructure and Japanese travel culture.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

Ability to work independently and collaborate professionally with internal teams and partners.

Proficiency with basic computer applications, presentation tools, and internal systems.

Valid driver’s license with a clean abstract.

Ability to work onsite in Honolulu with occasional travel as required.

 

OTHER / MISCELLANEOUS

Standard work hours: up to 40 hours/week, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.; overtime may be required.

Work environment: office, remote, or on-site at hotels, venues, and other partner locations.
